Inkjet Ink
One of the absolute best ways to save money on your printing supply costs is to purchase ink cartridge refill kits. Compared to the cost of purchasing new inkjet printer cartridges every time you run out of ink, refill kits can save you enough to buy a new printer. The trade-off for such monetary savings comes in more time spent refilling cartridges versus popping a new one into the machine.
Most inkjet printer ink performs relatively well across the spectrum but there can be differences. The size of the ink molecules and the means for manufacturing them can produce qualitative differences. The technology used in the printer also has a lot to do with its performance, though. On balance, the printer technology has more of an influence on the quality of its printing than does the ink used.
If refilling inkjet cartridges is something you have neither the time nor the patience to do, there are still ways to save money on your printing costs. You can purchase factory-refilled cartridges, remanufactured cartridges, or new compatible cartridges. New compatible and reman cartridges are usually more stringently tested for quality control than simple refills, though.
Buying Ink Cost Effectively
A cartridge’s worth is determined by its longevity, its price, and its hassle-free operation. Time spent reprinting documents or cleaning up ink spills can cancel out the benefits of a cartridge’s cheap price. You will usually have a better experience by buying products that are rigorously tested for quality and durability than by simply buying the cheapest available product.
