HP Printer Cartridge
Hewlett-Packard makes some of the most popular printers in the industry. From multi-function machines to inkjet printers to advanced laser copiers, HP has a long history of innovation and a reputation for quality. Their printer cartridges are also highly in demand, by consumers and by remanufacturers. You can almost invariably find a buyer for your empty cartridges.
One difficulty with using the most popular HP print cartridges (like the HP 51645A) is that, even though most retail stores carry them, they are often out of stock. This is one of the main reasons that office supply buyers so often choose to purchase over the Internet or through a third-party distributor. A large distributor is hardly ever likely to run out of such a popular cartridge.
HP cartridges are also big in the remanufactured and compatible markets. Remanufactured laser cartridges can cut your printing supply costs by 30 percent or more. Compatible inkjet cartridges can do the same but to a lesser degree. The biggest savings on inkjet cartridges come from refilling cartridges. (Many newer refill kits have solved the messiness problem that some consumers had reported.)
Non-OEM Cartridges and Your Warranty
In most instances, printer manufacturers cannot obligate their customers to purchase only OEM ink and toner. If you purchase an extended warranty or a service agreement (anything beyond the standard factory warranty), they can restrict your usage to only OEM products. This is not always the case but it often is, so check the terms of your agreement first.
