Toner Cartridge
Toner cartridges are indispensable–you can hardly ever have too much of it, and no matter how much of it you have, you will run out at the worst possible moment. The costs of toner cartridges can add up quickly, though. Most businesses are right to stock up when a good deal comes along.
Most toner cartridges for laser printers and copiers have yields far beyond those of inkjet cartridges, so many businesses with high printing volumes prefer them. Toner is also a dry printing medium so there are fewer issues with cartridges sitting on a shelf for a few months. This means you can stock up and get a much better deal by buying in bulk.
For most laser printer and copiers, you can find remanufactured toner cartridges in addition to the OEM cartridges. Remans, as they are commonly known, are not the same as refills. A remanufactured cartridge should have its more delicate parts replaced during the process and should go through a stringent testing procedure before being sold. Always ask about an unknown company’s process before buying remans from them.
New cartridges Versus Remans
New cartridges are guaranteed to work and will not void any warranty you may have on your machine. They are also quite a bit more expensive than remans. If you have confidence in the supplier, reman cartridges can represent a significant savings without sacrificing performance. Your best bet is to compare one side by side with a new cartridge before buying a case of remans from a new supplier. Standard warranties usually do not exclude quality remans.
